When we dropped anchor this morning shortly before daylight, conditions looked horrible. There was no current. We tried drifting and anchoring for limited success with the yellowtail. Around mid-morning we looked at another ridge and found a trickle of current and 12-15 # yellows that wanted to play. They bit for a couple of hours. Another area produced 18-24# yellowtail for a couple of hours in the afternoon. We ended up with a great day of fishing. After a dinner on the anchor in the lee we headed offshore for tomorrow's fishing.
Young Mitchell Morrison on his first longer trip, caught this yellow along with quite a few others. He will surely sleep well tonight.
