Royal Star
8/25/14
About as calm an atmosphere as one could imagine adrift nearly all day in pristine conditions. Plunking at 30 - 40# bluefin all the while the pace was always enough to maintain interest with periods when things came alive; about as classic a "plunker" bite as one can describe. Just shy of an entire day of rail time set one and all in the right frame of mind - satisfied, sated, and relaxed; exactly how it is supposed to feel.
In about as ideal a position as a Captain and group of anglers could hope for at this stage of a four day offshore voyage the plan for our final fishing day - unbelievably enough the fourth of this run, is to go with it. Why upset the present trend? Everything needed to make it happen is in hand.
Photos today feature Royal Star anglers Bill Morris with a nice one that succumbed to the iron, and "Turbo" Bob Ryan with a chunky forty pounder landed in the waning afternoon.
