Royal Star

12/10/13

A departure today distinguished by veteran perspective. Out on deck, on a day brilliantly illuminated by things best in life, all absorbed the masterpiece. The collage of positive features, of aspects tooled for success, was worthy of recognition; we are now southbound in the right frame of mind.

No heady notions however, we are too educated to the whims of indifference that are this ocean's identity. But this understanding compels us to seize and savor the good, even if only a moment, and appreciate the favor. The good comes with the opposite. It is the proportions that are never set.

As we are in the business of making our own luck time will tell how this 10/13 day adventure plays out. In contact with our colleagues below it appears that there are plenty of signs to foment optimism. On the ride south there promises to be at least a couple more days of rest and revelry. As for our destination suffice to say the focus is big fish - giant yellowfin tuna to be sure.

On the admin side of things we are up and running test driving the latest improvement on Royal Star thus far with the expected success. We are now broadband equipped with wireless throughout the boat. The new e-mail service is built into the 2014 pricing so feel free to bring your electronic devices on future voyages and take advantage of the wireless if you choose to stay in touch.

Daily reports direct from Royal Star commence today and continue through the return date of December 23rd. Both Captain Randy Toussaint and I are manning the helm on this annual run that assembles an elite group of the finest long range fisherman we know. We are off to a good beginning; now to maintain the flow.
