A high intensity offshore affair as we plied the waters until late afternoon seeking a specific sign that was maddening in
its absence. Fortunately the morning did provide a few chances, including a ripper on the quality 25 - 35# yellowfin that was
the real deal though short lived, but the main vein was elusive driving us to the point of name calling by late afternoon.

Perhaps that did it, or maybe it was just a coincidence, but shortly after a few hearty oaths and less than flattering titles
were assigned to the wily, incognito air breathers there they were. Right on schedule, right where we wanted them to be, they
arrived carrying a bonanza of fish primed for catching. And catch them we did.

Run and gun style action closed out the day with about half a dozen shots at both school size 12-18 pound fish and the
bigger, more desirable 25 - 40 pounders. Quick, hot and heavy hits were the program that we cleaned up as quickly as possible
to get back on the move and keep up with the fast moving air breathers that almost always seem to be on a mission to get
somewhere quick.

The good action and solid results closed out the day on a high note setting us up for a final push north in search of the
ultimate good fortune. To no one's surprise the bluefin, that were on the bite for the better part of four days, took today
off. A complete disappearance - none landed or seen - does not do wonders for building confidence about tomorrow, especially
in light of the big action consecutive days prior. But we're all dressed up with no where else to go. They'll either show or
they won't, and we'll enjoy or endure the results.

Photo number one today features long range and Royal Star veteran Cliff Joralmon pulling on one of the better yellowfin
during our brief morning ripper. Photo two features first time Royal Star angler, but no stranger to long range, Dave
Wimberly with a slim skinny taken a few days back on the ridge.
