Royal Star

Aside from a good area of eager morning yellowtail that we took only short advantage of the catching portion of the day, for
the target variety species, was a bust. Off conditions did us in encouraging the millions of bass in this zone to take the
day off. Looking at the surroundings, both above and below the surface, it is almost impossible to believe that one could
employ all of our tactics and come up empty, but that is exactly what happened in numerous different areas. Suffice it to say
that they were off the bite; no further explanation necessary.
Of course the scenery was splendid and the weather was superb, both significant bonuses when fishing takes a dump, and the
day closed with none worse for the wear and all ready to head back out tomorrow and resume the search for tuna; none more
than I.
Photos today feature Chef Jeffery Grant swinging the gaff with the best of them during a highlight fishing moment of the
morning, and Jeff again with veteran long range angler Mark Paul who returned after a twelve year hiatus to find the fishing
still extraordinary and the standard of service amazingly evolved.
