Royal Star Fish Report

Royal Star

4/24/13

Somewhat of a ground hog day scenario as time blended dark into day and day into dark with virtually no change from
the previous cycle. But for a few wahoo taken mid morning, and the very occasional, random tuna enticed throughout
the day, the bulk of our fishing, and catching, occurred from sunset through dawn.

One highlight of the day was morning skiff rotations for wahoo fishermen in the gloriously calm Pacific Ocean 560
miles from the nearest land. Though the runs weren't tremendously productive the novelty of the opportunity was
half the fun. Everyone who went out with Captain Brett Rouintree and Captain Paul Caramao returned with some good
laughs and a few fish. And the derby went to Captain Rouintree who delivered a resounding defeat to resident young
buck Paul.

The final daytime highlight to report was the capture of another personal best as long time Royal Star and angling
veteran Eddy Sisom spied the auto fished kite bait getting hammered afar, jumped into the drivers seat, and landed
his first 210# cow thirty minutes later. It was a great way to break up an otherwise lazy afternoon, certainly
rousted a few anglers from their daytime slumber to take up the cause, and set the tone for a good night to come...
