Royal Star

A happy ending well deserved, hard earned. Perfect timing, combined with good conditions and a jumbo kelp
loaded with tuna, was the final opportunity to settle the score. A good mix of quality yellowfin in the 20
- 38# range was the bonus we were really looking for. And for certain we made the most of the morning;
there was no piddling around; straight business as yellowfin and a few "ballslappers" poured over the
rail.

It was a strong fishing finish to a rather distinct ten day voyage that pegged the variety and quantity
categories in respectable proportion. The quality category could use a boost but we have Mother Nature to
thank for that. Thankfully, despite Hurricane Paul's best attempts to upset our rhythm on this
historically productive run, we prevailed wrenching a fine catch from it's strangle hold. A little wisdom,
a lot of caution, and a proportionate share of good fortune along the way added up in the end for a fine
result. We are happy.

But, far more importantly, our anglers are happy. Pleased with the strategic combination of avoiding the
tempest while maximizing fishing time and production, this group could not have demonstrated their
satisfaction with more class, respect, and poise. Between the uber long range veterans and anglers new to
Royal Star one and all had a great time together sharing tales and time at sea while catching an ample
bounty of fish. No doubt there will be many iceboxes packed with beautiful RSW loins and fillets for the
next year following this run.

In closing my gratitude is extended to one and all as the warm, calm demeanor of this group made this time
at sea incredibly satisfying in all respects. This has been a tremendously popular voyage for many years
for good reason: exceptional folks on an exceptional boat with an exceptional crew make for good times,
always - signature Royal Star.

Now it is Captain/Co-owner Brian Sims turn to lead the charge as we depart tomorrow on the annual Ventura
County anglers 10 day voyage that last season got the big fish train rolling down below. We'll see if a
repeat is in order as at present the door is open with pure opportunity beckoning from the region of
choice.

Final voyage photo features jackpot winner Dwayne Johnson with a fine 38# yellowfin tuna landed during our
last big hit of the adventure. Look for Capt. Sims' reports to commence on Sun.
