A quick morning shot at the bigger yellows rounded out our quota and launched the day on the high note of
success. Afterward we did a little poking around seeking variety in the form of a few kelp bass and other
exotics. That endeavor was short lived though as the northern call was heeded again.

A door wide open, in the form of fantastic weather, is not to be squandered - especially when packing an
exceptional load of fish. Variety and quality are now the priority offshore as we ploughed an afternoon
furrow through the well beaten path gaining altitude and insight along the way.

Yes our network was crackling with information all afternoon as the coming combination of flat calm and
full moon already appeared to be eliciting stronger signs offshore. For us the afternoon provided
marginal fishing action; nothing of consequence as only smaller grade yellowfin tuna climbed on the jigs.

The place to be, if we have it figured correctly, is well beyond. I can already feel it coming though.
Within a day or two there are going to be several, perhaps even numerous places to be; places where one
can make a noteworthy catch that is. And of course we are hoping that one of those places is on our bow,
or better yet beneath our hull, during the next couple of days.

We have set our whole strategy in motion to favor this exact scenario since day one. Loaded with bait,
time, motivation, and the tools to make it happen we'll see if we can live up to our expectations. It is
a tall order.

Photo today features first time Royal Star angler Janelle Alleman with one of two nicer yellowtail landed
this morning from three chances. When our buddy Bobo capitalized on her first opportunity having
breakfast at her expense Janelle, undeterred, bounced right back and landed two consecutive beauties. The
triumph in her expression says it all. Good Morning!
