It wasn't the big barn burner as yesterday, both in the grade of fish and pace of action, but it was a
fine day nevertheless with one productive mid morning stop on school size bluefin and just over a handful
more of jumbo albacore. Fitting the pattern of the past month one day out here on the offshore grounds in
no way, shape, or form has any bearing on what will happen the next.

The one certainty is that there is still a bounty of quality tuna, both bluefin and yellowfin, to be had
out here. As such, with a wealth of time still at hand, we are relocating looking for the big hit on
better tuna elsewhere.

Photo for the day features another big "fatso" albacore for uber veteran angler Fred Fukunaga. At 42
pounds this beauty put a smile on everyone's face. Not seeing these fabled "unicorn fish" now for too
many seasons, I can't help but smile, laugh even, when I see these things coming up from the deeps then
laying on the deck. They sure are beautiful; next season we'll see more.
