Fish Report for 9-6-2012
Royal Star Fish Report

Royal Star
9/5/12
A lot more like what we signed up for today as the moon malaise finally waned and the fish got back with
the program right on schedule. Not just here either as the ocean floated and good fishing was found in
many different zones; no surprise with the combination of present conditions.
The heat wave continues, in particular today above the surface, making for a tropical adventure featuring
plenty of perspiration and sunscreen. Yesterday the breeze was a little stiff and the ocean a little
bumpy. Today it was grease calm and we found ourselves almost hoping for the breeze again - almost. As it
was the beauty and comfort of the surroundings could not be spoiled by a little sunshine. Of course the
good fishing didn't hurt either.
Phenomenal sign of fish, and loads of perfect bait there for the taking, made a near perfect day of it.
The afternoon featured a spectacular showing of quality yellowtail with acres of the 20 - 30 pound fish
surfacing to pursue thousands, millions, of doomed mackerel and sardines. The big spots of breaking fish
beckoned to the surface pluggers who made good on the opportunity with numerous epic visuals in the
grease calm seas and crystal clear blue waters. Between the surface jigs and everything else it was the
ideal day we have been waiting for. We are now on the right footing for our final two days offshore with
plenty of yellowtail and variety fishing under our belts.
Two more days of grease calm in the forecast are expected to be well received by all of us plying the
outside waters. Throw in a few quality yellowfin and Bluefin, that have been incognito in big numbers of
late, and we'll have the ideal opportunity at hand. Rest assured that they are still around. It is just a
matter if finding them up and biting.
Photos today feature the Beneze sisters Erica and Stephanie who have both been fishing with us for many
years with their dad Nate. Enjoying the weather, good times, and good fishing both girls had a big time
today pulling on eager, quality yellowtail in a piece of fishing paradise.
