Africa hot down here today, sea temp and ambient, and my sentiment about this incredibly rapid ascent
does not exactly follow suit. The sea temperature was, is, too hot for our liking, and gives one an
uneasy sense to say the least. But that may have come in part from the distinct lack of good fish found
on a long sojourn that came as a result of fair, short lived morning action at our destination of choice.
Thus far this has not been easy, far from it in fact, as everywhere we have traveled provides just enough
sign to confirm that they are here, but that only. This is a real fishing expedition. And when this
period of malaise finally does come around it will be sweet revenge to be sure. As I have stated now many
times this season it is not a matter of the fish being present - they are here in mass; it is simply a
matter of hitting it on the right cycle.
Far from over, thankfully, we continue the hunt tomorrow with high hopes that the blazing hot sea temp is
temporary at best associated with the northward movement of the last two tropical storms. If not get
ready to be catching dorado off Canada in short order. Needless to say this certainly throws a potential
big wrench in the works. Man it is hot!
