At the risk of sounding too good to be true we enjoyed another day of superb fortune; fantastic fishing
by every measure, and tailored perfectly for our present position; another full day of rail time
scratching away at quality yellowtail in the 18 - 30# class.

From around 0930 to 1530 anglers stepped to the rail as they pleased and again stood a very good chance
of hooking one of the big yellows the entire time. It wasn't wide open, and that is actually a good thing
in the fish rich position we presently sit, but a well fished bait, and even some fished not so well, did
the trick the majority of the time.

Between the perfect pace, quality fish, and nice weather I assign the term idyllic to the day with full
confidence. We, and many of our colleagues, are presently living right; and are paying proper respects as
such. There are those magical junctures in fishing when all things align in one's favor; when things just
seem to fall right into place as if purposely designed for the objective. Thus far this voyage we are
sailing through one of those periods.

But while I offer this perspective I am also keenly aware of the flip side that rears it's ugly head on
occasion. We are under no illusions here. And to assign any of our successes to pure luck would be an
egregious disservice to our work ethic; we are not that kind of fishermen. There is certainly some magic
to the timing; but being in the right place, at the right time, is not by accident. Consistency is the
real measure out here; the guys who are good, the results of operations overall, do not resemble a roller
coaster.

To that point we will see if the roll continues tomorrow. Catching or not beyond this point we are good
on fish; everything is bonus from here forward. We are game though. Remembering what I offered about not
wishing to miss any good offshore tuna fishing we return to the grounds seeking at least a few more of
those beautiful quality yellowfin and Bluefin tuna. Our guys had another banner day on the outside
yesterday suggesting things at least as good, and perhaps even better, to come.

On a final note it appears that the big push in the local grounds has finally begun. The vast areas of
kelp paddy yellowtail, dorado, and scattered tunas have arrived. There is tremendous promise of much good
fishing on the local grounds (within 70 miles of home) as the month of August progresses through
September. Between what we are catching and seeing, and what has already arrived look for the good
fishing to continue.

Photos for the day feature "Turbo" Bob Ryan and Ed Lemmon mighty pleased with one of their many 35# class
Bluefin landed a couple of days prior.
