Royal Star
06/12/12
A couple of unique images today of Capt. Randy Toussaint in full focus moments before driving the gaff home in a eighty pound YFT at Alijos Rocks, and Chief Engineer Sean Bickel digging for an eighty pound offshore bluefin as it dove for the chine.
Otherwise we are tied up for a few more days before resuming our schedule with the first of three 2 ? day runs. As a reminder the first voyage departing this Thursday is full but the other two, June 24th - June 27th, and June 27th - June 30th, both presently offer plenty of availability. This is the time of year when it starts happening locally so don't hesitate too long if you are considering either voyage. Conditions are already ideal down below; up above (within 200 miles) is showing more promise daily and is simply a matter of time. Bluefin tuna have been seen in good numbers within 120 miles of Point Loma as well as yellowtail beneath kelps. When they shift into a biting mode is the question that will never be answered from the beach. As it is always better to be first than second or last it is time to get off the sand and go. There is nothing sweeter in fishing than being the one to get things started.
Both voyages are a real bargain at $700 and will carry anglers to the grounds with the full compliment of Royal Star advantages including full fish processing services from Fisherman's Processing upon return. On the final evening of the voyage anglers will have the option of placing their fillet, smoke, jerky, and canning orders in advance of their early morning arrival with the catch being directly offloaded and transported to the conveniently located facility for packaging. Anglers choosing this service will not have to touch a fish or participate in the unloading of the catch in any form. They simply unload their personal equipment, head to the processing shop, and pick up their professionally filleted and packaged product in short order.
If you have questions about these voyages or others please drop us a line in the office at 619-224-4764. We look forward to getting back out on the water!
