Who better to demonstrate a degree of sportsmanship and recognition of the fact that we venture long range voyages to have fun than Royal Star June 2011 Angler of the Month Bart Ryder? Ask anyone who has fished with Bart and you will encounter enthusiastic agreement, and a wealth of details humorously recalled that complement the memory.
You see Bart is one of those unique individuals who grasps the positive side of every circumstance then wrings every ounce of benefit and mirth from the opportunity - and believe me opportunities abound when Bart and his annual group of likeminded anglers join together on Royal Star.
But, the bounty of laughs and good will is far from unique to Bart's wildly successful annual charter. Every voyage I have shared with him is the same. By the end of day one Bart's all inclusive, rallying enthusiasm has participants engaged and seeking the same positive footing to perpetuate the contagious vibe. It makes the time fly by in a whirlwind of humor, recollection, and memory making.
And while Bart stands among few with his enviable social traits his fishing skills speak to a dedication to long range fishing proven by incredibly consistent results. Whether targeting his first passion - giant yellowfin tuna, or any other coastal or offshore species, Bart is always at the top of whatever action is available employing the age old strategy of success; a combination of time at the rail, perfect maintenance of and attention to equipment, and competitive drive makes for a tough angler to beat.
Checking the competitive challenge by inserting a wealth of compassion and humor Bart advances an approach in which we could all recognize a few lessons; keeping the atmosphere light and buoyant benefits everyone. But, once a big one is on the line the focus shifts to meet the challenge suspending all other distractions. This rare, perfect combination has made an admirer of our Royal Star team and countless others. Congratulations to a deserving Bart Ryder who joins the building pantheon of Royal Star anglers worthy of exceptional respect and recognition.
