Fish Report for 10-2-2010

Royal Star Fish Report

10-2-2010
Royal Star

We are off and headed south in continuing calm wind and seas indicative of the classic "Indian Summer" conditions we hope to see at this time of year. I have to say that overall fishing conditions are looking and feeling very good for the fall 2010 series of ten to twelve day voyages. Both the ridge and Alijos rocks have been delivering on quality yellowfin tuna and wahoo while the offshore zone down below beckons with hints of great things to come. Based on what we have seen in year's past, I would rate the potential for bigger and trophy yellowfin as excellent. Conditions are right.

For now however we begin this voyage with our focus directed on what we know from the past several weeks. As I mentioned the zone from Alijos to the ridge spots inside has been reliable and productive on highly desirable yellowfin tuna and wahoo. So much so that we are not ready to drive by such tremendous potential. It's a start anyway. Beyond that reports will continue as we forge ahead on this annual ten day voyage sponsored by Shimano.

As most, if not all, of you know we are hugely supportive of Shimano's products for their durability, performance, and consistent visionary advances. There are plenty of good products available, and we support all that function to our and our angler's satisfaction, but, simply said Shimano is the best. Their products do not fail or disappoint. Believe me when I offer the results of the incredible abuse we subject Shimano rods and reels to daily. They continue to perform to our expectations and elevated standards no matter what we subject them to. That's what we want in our equipment. Bulldozer composition and ability while performing at peak levels. From well before the year Randy and I purchased Royal Star Shimano products have consistently met the challenge.

On the final promotional note I want to mention two upcoming voyages with space available. The first is the six day October 17 - 23rd that now appears to be changing to a seven day departing Saturday, October 16 returning Saturday, October 23rd. We have a great group of anglers excited about the opportunity to stretch this voyage out. Priced in the bargain range of $1995 for a seven day, this is a great opportunity to jump on a trip and take advantage of the epic fall setup. Also, we have not counted out the Guadalupe option on this trip. We'll see how it shakes out. If the door opens up - we are definitely on our way.

Also, we have just shy of a handful of openings on the October 23rd - November 2nd ten day that will be seeking opportunities at Alijos, the ridge, and beyond. As I mentioned potential is high. If one has the time and resources, and you are waiting for some indication of fish below, stay keen to the daily reports. Good news is forthcoming, and there is limited space available. Otherwise have a fine Sunday and look for reports to continue.
