Not a bad ride altogether as we worked through the worst of it by 0200. Thank goodness as it would have been a long, tiresome day otherwise. As it was we were all able to enjoy the day, relax, and tidy up equipment in preparation for our next voyage. In our case, the next voyage departs tomorrow with Captain Randy Toussaint and I combining our effort on the deck and behind the helm. Six day prospects continue to shine as plenty of options await.

Before moving on to the next voyage already though, we want to extend our sincere appreciation to Mike Ross and this fantastic group of individuals who made the voyage a good time for all. Between the catch of fish on board, the catching of the fish, and all the times in between passed in good fun, we are grateful for the fact that everyone came to enjoy good company, good fishing, and make a good time of whatever came our way.

Speaking of having a good time, our photo today features two individuals that demonstrate this idea to perfection. Royal Star angler Chad Cox, who in addition to being an expert fisherman, had fantastic time in every instance. Whether we fished for tuna, yellowtail, or coastal variety, Chad was out there with an upbeat demeanor and gung ho perspective. This is what recreational fishing is all about.

Also in today's photo is a face familiar to Royal Star anglers for the past five years. Chef Drew Rivera does the gaffing honors in this case for Chad demonstrating his versatility as an all purpose Royal Star crewman. Drew's talents in the galley are much better known and appreciated however as he holds the uncontested title of finest long range chef that I have ever been to sea with. It is not just the fact that the completely original meals Drew devises are in a category reserved for five star restaurants - really. It is also the fact that nothing about Drew is presumptuous or pompous. Between his jovial, amenable demeanor, and willingness to pitch in when any task on board needs doing, Drew earns his title daily. Also, I have to mention that in addition to his already full compliment of talents, Drew is a superb fisherman and damn fine crewmember on deck when thing get hot and heavy out there. Many a fish have come over the rail of Royal Star as a result of Drew jumping into the fray and getting our backs when we are on the ropes.
