Royal Star Fish Report

Royal Star
Nothing like a little variety fishing in flat calm weather to finish off a great voyage that up to today featured almost exclusive action on albacore. Bluefin tuna was the target today and we came up with a couple of decent schools that weren't quite ready to snap but ultimately yielded twenty three beauties from 35 - 42 pounds. One standout for angler Scott Morton tipped the scales at 80 pounds eliciting cheers, compliments, and admiration as we all stood there and appreciated the fat offshore bluefin we covet so much. A few handfuls of yellowtail and dorado added color to the day and put the finishing touch on another highly successful five day adventure. Without giving too much away I will reveal that things are shaping up in a big way and I suspect that we are in for some rip roaring offshore action sooner than later that will last through August and September. Get ready if you are on upcoming trips.
On that note Captain Brian Sims will be at the helm on the Phillips Steel/Wood Group departing tomorrow heading for points south ready to get back in the action. Before that however we want to thank Steve Kimbrough for assembling this fantastic group of anglers who through thick and thin had a great time that made a memorable trip. It is our pleasure and privilege to fish with all of you and we look forward to the opportunity to do so again next year.
Look for Captain Sims' reports to continue and like I said - get ready. There is some very good fishing soon to come.
