Royal Star Fish Report

4-29-2009
Royal Star

I have to admit that we are all a little punchy after being pummeled in sloppy conditions for four days straight. These last three in particular have been a real delight. Finally, at one hundred miles south of San Diego, the wind backed off to ten to fifteen knots, and although the residual sea state is still there as a reminder, it appears that the worst of it is behind us. A good feature of the ride up is that Royal Star, with steady water coming over the top for three days and nights, received a thorough rinsing following her extended time at the dock for maintenance. Aside from a few layers of caked salt, she is clean as she can be.

So this is the final leg with our time of arrival about 1530 PST at Fisherman's Landing today. We will be shutting the boat down for a stretch again but I will keep the daily reports updated with current information and a multitude of photos taken during the latest voyage. As I mentioned earlier, this round of photos is spectacular capturing the essence of the Revillagigedo tagging adventures better than any to date. I will do my best to post the first round tomorrow and will continue throughout the month of May. Enjoy the photos and look to join us on one of our June 1 1/2 day voyages if the local fishing heats up.
