Royal Star
Other than plenty of water passing under the bow we don't have much to report today as we made way south in near flat calm seas through frigid coastal waters. It looks like typical spring conditions along the entire coast as the California current and prevailing north westerly's keep the upwelling of cool waters alive. We did see a few good areas of yellowtail along the coast back on day one otherwise a few jumping bonito have been the highlight as far as sign of fish is concerned. As far as how these conditions relate to the long term outlook all I can venture is that cool water is typically beneficial in the mechanism that attracts albacore to the Southern California coast. So think positive as summer will be here before we know it.
Getting back to the present, our arrival in Cabo San Lucas will be at around 1345 PST today where we will grab our group of anglers and be on our way to Isla San Benedicto shortly thereafter. Needless to say we are ready to get this show on the road with all aboard ready to commence catching, tagging, and releasing yellowfin tuna and Wahoo to our hearts content.
