Royal Star Fish Report

Royal Star
Well here is some fantastic news we have been waiting to announce for some time. Much to the satisfaction of all those anglers who placed their confidence in the sometimes agonizingly drawn out process of acquiring permits for such unique, special projects, we have finally received official authorization to continue the Revillagigedo tagging project in 2008 and 2009. Once again - PERMITS FOR THE REVILLAGIGEDO TAGGING PROJECT ON ROYAL STAR IN 2008 - 2009 HAVE BEEN ISSUED, HAVE BEEN RECEIVED, AND ARE A FIRM REALITY! MERRY CHRISTMAS!
To all anglers scheduled on the February 2008 voyage we thank you for your patience with the process and encourage you to call for assistance with flight arrangements or certainly, if you prefer, begin making your own.
Now, as the new permit provides for access to the Revillagigedo reserve from the months of January through May of 2008 and 2009, we have tentative plans, based on angler's interest, of converting the April, Izorline 2008 fly down fly back voyage from a regular fishing voyage to a Revillagigedo tagging voyage. This new tagging voyage will follow the same format of the February tagging voyage as a fly down fly back originating in San Diego and departing for fishing from Cabo San Lucas. The total length of the voyage will be seventeen days with eleven of those days being dedicated to the fishing portion of the voyage. The total of eleven days from and to Cabo will provide at least nine full days of access to the closed zone inside six miles that will be open to tag and release fishing for all yellowfin tuna and wahoo from Royal Star.
The fare for this incredible opportunity to experience fishing for yellowfin tuna and wahoo as it likely was long before the era of industrial commercial fishing and professional sport fishing is $4295.00. There is also a required, tax deductible donation of $1500.00 that is applied to the purchase of electronic tags that will be placed in yellowfin tuna during the course of your trip. The combined total price of the voyage is $5795.00 and includes all permit and fuel costs.
If you are an angler interested in this incredible opportunity available no where else, in no other form, please contact Tracy, Randy, Brian, or Tim in the Royal Star office as soon as possible. The February 2008 voyage is presently full but we will gladly add your name to our waiting list in the event a cancellation occurs. If you are interested in the possible April 2008 Revillagigedo tagging voyage, again please contact us at your earliest convenience as we will schedule the voyage solely based on angler interest. If you have any questions regarding these spectacular voyages and their past successes, please call our office. I have tremendous enthusiasm for this project and can not compel an angler seeking a unique, remarkable adventure more strongly to seek my opinion. Of all the amazing experiences I have acquired in my twenty three years of fishing the Eastern Tropical Pacific, the 2006 and 2007 Revillagigedo tagging voyages are at the top of my list. The sights and experiences can only be compared to something that was available in an era long before I was born. Coupled with zero competition, literally no other vessels competing for spots or limited areas of fish, these voyages are absolutely unmatched in the fishing potential they offer. Finally, the ability to be a working participant in a genuine scientific expedition that has already provided fascinating details of the life habits of yellowfin tuna and wahoo from the Revillagigedo region, set these voyages apart from any other ever offered.
We are sincerely honored to be chosen to participate in this incredible project and extend our gratitude to the Instituto Nacional de Pesca of Mexico and the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission for this opportunity. With many years of successful tagging experience in our favor, we have opened many doors in the world of joint projects between the scientific and sport fishing communities through our anglers enthusiasm for these projects. As such we are very excited about the future tagging opportunities on Royal Star and will look forward to hearing from all of you who may wish to join us.
Merry Christmas again from all of us at Royal Star Sport Fishing and good fishing!
