Royal Star Fish Report

Well if you were ready to write things off, think again. The boys had a very good day of steady action on wahoo along with a host of other dorado, yellowtail, and even a few tuna while working kelps in perfect conditions on their way up the line. Capt. Toussaint reported every kelp they found producing action and the "skinnies" in that robust forty to fifty pound class that is usually indicative of the main body of fish moving in. It has been a while since things have developed a little later in the season and it appears that such is the case now. The other boats in our group are also reporting very good fishing in a variety of zones, most of which were just short of dead up to one week ago.

Once again this is another stark example of why it is such fun to follow along the daily reports, but not to let the day to day catching, or lack thereof, affect one's psyche; especially if you are booked on an upcoming trip or are planning a trip for the future. The crystal ball approach is as good as any as every day, every month, and especially every year can be so vastly different. It is also a reason to remain steadfastly optimistic as we know the one given in ocean fishing is always change; for better or worse. So, the guys have one final morning to look on the outside as they opted to spend every last minute in search of wahoo and tuna as opposed to working up the line. With continuing perfect, grease calm weather in the forecast, "Old Lucky" undoubtedly has a few more tricks up his sleeve.
