Royal Star Fish Report

Royal Star

Capt. Sims returned today following a nice final morning that featured a couple of productive drifts for red rock cod before calling it a trip and heading north in decent weather. Now it's time for "Old Lucky" himself to try his hand as Capt. Toussaint takes the helm on our annual Ventura County anglers ten day voyage. At present, it looks like the list of strategic options is distinctly limited due to the presence of tropical storm, soon forecast to be, Hurricane Kiko moving it's way into the exact zone where the best yellowfin tuna action has been. This is not the first time we have been challenged by such storms down below however, and as always, safety comes first. With the set up appearing to favor at least a couple of days in the upper zone, it is a very good thing that the guys have at least a couple of good options at hand. We will keep everyone posted of course.

Before we launch into the next voyage reports though, all of us at Royal Star Sport Fishing wish to extend our most gracious thanks to Larry Fancher and the entire group of anglers who joined us last trip. This balanced group of both veterans and anglers new to long range made this trip a success by showing genuine character and making a good time of it regardless of what mother nature dished out. Overall, through the efforts of both anglers and the Royal Star crew, they put together a respectable catch of variety and quality that we know will be enjoyed at the table in days to come. Thanks again to everyone and we look forward to fishing with all of you again!
