Royal Star Fish Report

Royal Star

We started off on the right foot today clearing Pt. Loma by noon enroute for the local albacore grounds that showed good promise according to reports from the morning fishing. A short few hours later, we were hanging on in choppy seas but gladly enduring the challenge while pulling on beautiful twenty five to thirty five pound albacore. The big difference today was the attitude of all the fish we found that displayed the old albacore attributes we all cherish them for. Everything we saw was eager to bite today, immediately crashing up the wake and bending rods whether we found schools on the sonar or located them with the trolling jigs. What a pleasure to see these fish acting right rather than the coy, fickle nonsense they have been teasing our fishing instincts with over the past month. Needless to say, after such a extended period of frustrating, marginally productive effort, there is no mercy in our present approach or demeanor. That said, we have no plans to relocate as we hope these albacore will be up and biting again tomorrow. Much improved weather is in the forecast so the stage is set for some bona fide fishing. We'll see if the fish gods agree.
