Well the inevitable change weather change occured today with a freshening twenty to twenty five knot breeze and accompanying seas that made the offshore kelp search a challenging task. Conditions were far from extreme however, and we are well accustomed to working in whatever mother nature metes out, so the show went on with a decent day of kelp action on ten to twenty pound yellowtail with a couple of handfuls of nice dorado in the mix for color. Taking the weather into consideration, as well as the need to stop the boat and enjoy some fishing with a scenic backdrop, we continued our southerly, downhill trek throughout the day and evening with plans to fish in a beautiful island lee all day tomorrow. Beyond tomorrow we will play it by ear as it looks like it may be a couple of more days before mother nature gets the wind out of her system.
