Well the objective of stopping the boat to fish was a one hundred percent success as the ridge was on fire yesterday in balmy, grease calm weather. We arrived at our chosen destination just after daylight and aside from a few short moves, had something pulling on our lines from that moment through dark. School size yellowfin in the ten to twenty pound class, fifteen pound yellowtail, and twelve to fifteen pound dorado made up the bulk of the catch so selective take was in order, but the catching, the weather, and the visual spectacle of game fish jumping in every direction, all combined for a fantastic day of fishing fun.
With our day of "jerkin and pullin" now accomplished, it's back to the outside where we will finish our time in the lower zone again searching for glory kelps holding wahoo and Dorado. As the gorgeous, flat calm weather is forecast to hold one more day, we will see if we can put it to good use tomorrow.
