Royal Star

What it boils down to in the case of the fishing phase of this voyage is the fact that we have been on one of those rolls where everything is falling into place in our favor. For example, yesterday afternoon we had plenty of these beautiful yellowfin tuna and moved out of our prime spot allowing the guys on the Angler to slide in for the late afternoon/evening. With plenty of tuna in the hatch we were hoping to catch a wahoo or two and perhaps a few yellowtail to finish out our day. After looking around awhile, Randy dropped the anchor in a different spot up the island and we began to get the tuna good again almost immediately. Without trying for more yellowfin, it continued to get better and better finally ending the day with the majority of anglers cheering on the last few die hards throwing on a handful or two to end the day on hugely successful note. Obviously we are living right and are immensely thankful as such. Needless to say the sore muscles and hands are sweetly satisfying to this fantastic group of anglers who have seen Guadalupe island as good as it gets. Our final morning will be spent on the north end before heading up the line paying some dues for the primo, flat calm Guadalupe conditions we have been enjoying for the past four days. With a little bumpy weather forecasted for the ride up the line, we are ready to get nautical while traveling towards home. As the saying goes "all good things must come to an end".
