Royal Star Fish Report

Royal Star

We got off to a very nice start at the big island spending the entire day on the anchor while maintaining steady action on 55 - 80# yellowfin tuna. As reported yesterday it is much more a matter of beating the odds than anything we did in particular as reports from the prior day were downright ugly with poor conditions and a distinct lack of tuna sign. It just goes to show that the first element to success, in any fishing scenario, is to be there. Of course that might be making it sound a little too easy; the reality is far from it, but the fact that many times you simply have to go fishing, regardless of how poor things look, is true. That said we have no plans to relocate as both the fishing and forecasts for Hurricane John indicate that this will be the best, safest location for at least the next twenty four hours.
