Royal Star Fish Report

Coming down the line turned out to be a good call as we enjoyed a fantastic day of yellowtail fishing made even better by the gorgeous, flat calm weather that was outright balmy in the mid afternoon sun. When the fish came up and wanted to bite it was certainly encouraging for our many trips to come as there were spots up spread out for miles with waves and waves of fifteen to twenty five pound class yellows chasing baits and crashing on the surface. I have to say, although I enjoy everyone catching fish, this trip is particularly rewarding as we have five young men from ages twelve to fifteen that are have a ball pulling on these eager yellowtail obviously honing their fishing skills and developing a passion for the sport. To witness these kids catch the bug, waiting at the bait tank between stops and working to catch a fish every time we stopped the boat, reminded somewhat of when I was that age.

Taking all options into consideration, we elected to give the island pursuit one more day before heading up to the offshore grounds tomorrow in what is forecasted to be fine weather.
