More or less the only real excitement yesterday came in the form of a handful of short stops on twelve to fifteen pound yellowfin tuna and challenging sea conditions that were on the increase as the day progressed. I can say with certainty that we were in fantastic water conditions, ripe for a showing on bluefin, but for whatever reason, they were nowhere to be found. Needless to say it was a long day of looking and with challenging weather in the forecast, and little encouraging information to go on, we opted for a northerly course towards the islands where we are certain to manipulate the weather to our advantage while pursuing quality yellowtail. By no means have we called off the offshore search altogether, we are simply taking a break while the weather is grumpy planning to head back out in a couple of days. Until then we look to make the most of the island zone that has been traditionally productive at this time of year.
