Royal Star Fish Report
1-17-2006
Royal Star
We arrived on the grounds in the late morning to a breezy eighteen to twenty knots of wind and a sea condition that although workable, was still a distant cry from ideal. There were no surprises however as the forecasts, that have been on the money so far, prepared us for what we found. At the very least it was an improvement over yesterday, and all things considered, we were thankful for that.
As far as the fishing is concerned I can't say there was any improvement. In fact, the water temperatures dropped significantly in accordance with the wind, and it appeared that the area that has been holding the best fish for the past two weeks shifted. Now comes the challenging part - relocating the zone and then getting down to business. At day's end it definitely appeared that the weather was beginning to release it's grip so it looks like tomorrow just may be a pivotal day for us. Time will tell and so will we; stay tuned.
