Royal Star Fish Report

Royal Star

In every way this day compared to yesterday was an absolute gem with sensational weather and plenty of fishing action. I have to report however that the steady action did not solely consist of yellowtail as there were a number of other coastal species that were determined to join the party. This day is probably what half or three quarter day fishing was like many years past with gigantic "log" barracuda and hefty ten to twelve pound bonito mixed in our yellowtail fishing; at times so thick that they actually forced us to relocate to a "cleaner" location. Suffice to say that it was a significant deviance from our stereotypical day of long range yellowtail fishing but we made the most of it putting together a respectable score of 15 - 25# yellowtail while enjoying the rugged scenery of Baja's coastline and the beautiful, grease calm weather. Now we head north to finish our voyage with two days of offshore fishing where conditions have taken a turn for the better as we had hoped with the oncoming new moon. With plenty of time to get the job done, we hope that good luck will favor our efforts over the next few days.
