Well I hate to say it but we began our voyage with another fishless day but the circumstances on this occasion were far different than last time. There actually was some good morning fishing to be had but during bite time we were busy making bait arrangements with some local friends. As it turned out, we made the short, twenty mile run back to the grounds just in time to see the bite shut off. The remainder of our afternoon was spent mapping out the area and I have to say that the feel of the place is much different that the beginning of our last voyage. Good weather and water conditions as well as on and off good signs of fish are all contributing to our feeling of confidence. It is going to happen. Our day ended in a picturesque setting targeting the day saving snappers and reef fish we have become so familiar with. A completely new area yielded a few for the stewpot and a few Cubera'a that we released but slack current conditions, I believe, deprived us of the potential glory this new spot. Tomorrow morning will again be spent in pursuit of tuna offshore before we head in to see what kind of luck we had on the big bait.
