Royal Star Fish Report

Royal Star

Greetings everyone here is a recap of our Clipperton results and a few other notes of interest for you. Fifteen over two hundred was the trip total with the largest at 275. The kicker is that I am certain we let a couple if not three others slip through the cracks believing they were less than two hundred before cleaning them and dropping them in the RSW tank. When fishing in the tropics, it is imperative to bleed and remove the innards as quickly as possible to diffuse the accumulated heat at the fish?s core. When we are in a hot bite, this cleaning is being performed in conjunction with all the other action occurring at the time. Needless to say it can get a little hectic and it is definitely possible that one of those "on the fencer's" (fish right at the two hundred mark) may slip by in our zeal to produce premium quality. After seeing that I missed a couple, I will definitely be a little more careful from this point on. Aside from this I am very pleased to report that I just returned from Five Star Fish Processing where I examined and sampled our latest catch brought in fresh from Clipperton. Unbelievable is how I would describe the quality of this fish. The combination of our new refrigeration system, our method of handling the catch, and flat calm weather while traveling north from Clipperton produced a grade of tuna that one only finds in the finest fresh fish markets on a very limited basis. We were extremely pleased to offer the RSW option to Royal Star anglers on this last voyage and after seeing the quality of both the whole fish at the dock yesterday and the finished product today, I could not be more satisfied with the results. To all our Clipperton anglers on the last voyage and their friends: thank you and we hope you enjoy such a beautiful product to its maximum potential.

Look for Randy"s reports to commence tomorrow.
