Fish Report for 1-19-2006
Royal Polaris Update 1/19/06
1-19-2006
Royal Polaris Crew
Hello everyone, the numbers are in, and it is official. We had a wonderful
trip. But wonderful is a very small word for the type of fishing we had for
8 days. I would call it UNBELIEVABLE!!! We had anglers fishing on our boat
for years, and never caught a 200 pound Yellowfin tuna. We had Taka Tanka
catch 10 Giant Yellowfin from 212 to 253 pounds. We released 153 Yellowfin
from 40 to 200 pounds. Jackpot fish was caught by Gary (gasman) Ashing,
with his personnel best, a 285 pound giant Yellowfin tuna. We had a boat
record catch of 72 Yellowfin over 200 pounds. That puts the Royal Polaris
over the 300 mark (338) of Yellowfin tuna in the 200 pound plus range. WOW,
what a number, and still 5 trips left to fish. Now let's talk about our
upcoming trip. We departed Fisherman's landing at 07:45 hours and headed to
Mission Bay for bait. Once we loaded up, we are now headed for points
south. Roy Rose is at the helm this trip. Crewmember are John Collins,
Billy (Beefy) Santiago, Eddie (fast Ed) Felarca, Aaron Barnhill (new kid on
the block), Kenny (super Mario) Canezaro, Paul (The Shogun) Merrill, and the
Dharyl (Big D) Shelbourne. Also new for the year is our photos of the trip.
We will be posting one photo per night, but after the trip we will post
about 30 shoots of the trip for you to few. So until tomorrow, wish us luck
and we will keep you updated on our upcoming events aboard the Royal
Polaris.
