Mark Gillette
Mark Gillette called in to give a report of the Eclipse 1.5 Day trip, "We are out on a Day and one-half charter, we got lucky this morning we got a decent kelp here for 37 Bluefin tuna. It was a lot of fun, a very lively batch of fish. We hoped to find some of those Yellowtail that were around. Unfortunately we went through 15 to 20 kelps here today for not a whole lot. That was a little bit of a disappointment. We ended up with over 60 mixed fish here today. So not a bad day, we did end up getting some Yellowtail and Yellowfin and rounded out the catch with some Dorado. All in all not a bad day, weather was a little on the adverse side, around 14 to 18 knots. A little bit of a choppy ride back home but nothing to be worried about.
Most of the action taking place here is about 110 to 120 miles from the Mission Bay jetty. Things a shaping up here as far as other boats here today there were some good hits to be had. That's it for now guys, look forward to get'n out with you this weekend. Look'n forward to nicer weather. We'll check back with you guys later.
Tight lines and sharp hooks!
