Bill Cavanaugh - Pacific Dawn
Bill Cavanaugh called in to give us a report for the fishing aboard the Pacific Queen, "It is just after 5:00 O'Clock on the afternoon of Sunday September 4, we are out on the offshore tuna grounds fishing a Day and one-half trip. We've had fairly good fishing today, we had a lull late morning we saw fish but didn't catch a lot of it. And it is starting to liven up here this afternoon. We haven't had any great hits or anything but we are up to 68 Bluefin now here for the day. I just wanted to check in, it just seems that now that this fishery has had a pretty steady week of fishing pressure on it is getting a lot more touchy. Guys that are doing the best are guys that are fishing light lines. Guys that are fishing with 20 lb. fluorcarbon and smaller hooks. It is definitely more of a finesse thing here now than it was. Anyway that is our report. If you guys are going out on a trip soon I would definitely recommend some lighter gear.
"We have 3 more hours of daylight here so we have plenty of fishing time. I just checked in with the landing and we do have a Day and one-half trip with some availability on it coming up this week. It is a trip that departs Wednesday the 7th and fishes on Thursday and gets back Friday morning. So if you think you want to go out give Fisherman's Landing a call at (619) 221-8500.
