Excel Runs Into 60 to 110 lb. Tuna at Alijos Rocks
8-12-2011
Justin Fleck
Justin called in to report and he said, "We slide in there the day before yesterday mid-morning and immediately got on a nice school of Tuna. He said they ran 60 to 110 lbs., there were a few smaller ones and a few bigger ones mixed in. He went on to day "there is good Yellowtail around and the Wahoo are starting to move in". They landed a few big Wahoo 40 pounders and as he said "those Rocks are shape'n up."
Justin then went on to say that "at least a dozen people on board caught their personal best Tuna". That always makes for a good trip.
The Excel is currently just outside of Bonitos looking for kelp. They will be looking for Dorado and Yellowfin today and they will try to put themselves in the local Tuna zone on Saturday. They will check in again tomorrow.
