Hello anglers,
Today started out kind of slow which is how it has been in the morning's
lately. We had a few wahoo in the along with a few smaller tuna which we
used for chunks. We did not see the life we had been seeing in the area we
fished the past few day's It seems as though our hot spot had all but dried
up. At about 3:30 we moved up the island and saw a couple of spots of fish
on bird school's , and a few bigger fish on the sonar .We started to hook
fish almost immediately. The majority of the fish were 50 to 90 pound's with
a handful in the 110 to 150 pound class, most of these were sardine fish
with a couple of fish on the chunk and kite. There was pretty good action
until a little after dark then the sharks took over.
At about 6:45 we pulled the anchor to go look for flying fish before the
moon got too bright. We were happily greeted with plenty of flyers for the
first time this trip. We then made our way to the bait grounds to put the
anchor down for the night.. The bait didn't bite until 11:15 and did not
bite for very long. We got about one box full , and the bait fishing was
pretty much over.
We will be here again tomorrow. The sign is still around, it's just a matter
of the better grade fish settling in again.
