Hello Anglers,

Today we arrived at tropical Clipperton at around 0345 hrs. After a short look around we dropped our anchor on the main ridge. We found a different current direction then the last to boats down here had seen. We started to pick at small tuna from the get go but we never hooked a big fish. For the morning we ended up with a few 50 to 75 pound fish. At 0730 we picked up the anchor to go look at bird schools. There was plenty of bird life around the island but the fish were not very cooperative. We did get one spot of fish to stick with us for awhile where Stan Vath got a 130 pound tuna on a chunk and we also picked up a couple more 70 to 90 pound fish. A little after lunch the rain started to come down pretty hard making looking for birds very hard so we ran into the island to look for some Wahoo. We ended up with 22 wahoo for our afternoon efforts. Just before dinner we got anchored back up on the ridge and picked up a few more tuna for the day. Mike Ashford picked up a 100 pound Yellowfin on the sardine, Tome Howe picked up a 110 pound Yellowfin on a sardine and Bruce Postumas caught and released a 65 pound Yellowfin also on a sardine. The picture I am sending is of Homer Harvey's birthday celebration on board the boat. Wish us luck tomorrow. Reported by: Shawn Steward
