Hello Anglers,
Today we traveled down towards Benitos Island looking for yellowfin along the way but the only tuna we caught was a 45 pound yellowfin 2 miles above Benitos on some porpoise. We saw a pretty good sign of tuna on the porpoise but we could not entice them to bite. When we gave up on the tuna we headed for the island and fished yellowtail until dark. Fishing was pretty steady with one to four yellows going all the time and a hour before daylight they stopped biting. There was a few yellows in the 30 pound range mixed in with the 15 to 22 pound yellows which seem to be the stock grade at the island. Tomorrow we are going to try for yellowfin at Guadalupe island and hopefully we will be able to pick a few fish to make up a good day. The picture that I am sending is of Dan Colonello and a 45 pound yellowfin he got on the troll on some porpoise. Reported by: Shawn Steward
