Epic Day

8-18-2026
Tim Ekstrom

By any metric a stellar day of ridge action featuring quality, variety and incredible abundance! Virtually non stop action kept us busy from dawn 'til dark aside from a few self imposed intermissions to allow the dust to settle and nuisance fish to disperse. While recuping and rehydrating we happened upon a handful of beautiful grade wahoo and some bona fide jumbo grade dorado that elevated the day high into the success column. Incredible weather, aside from being "Africa Hot", complimented the effort. We are indeed in tropical conditions down here for the foreseeable future. For those on upcoming longer trips prepare accordingly. Sun shirts, hats, and plenty of electrolytes are essential! Taking the "W" today with sincere appreciation the old adage currently applies. Going nowhere and happy for it we stuck ourselves to the bottom at day's end looking forward to the ocean's unlimited promise tomorrow.
