Yet another eventful day/night aboard the Royal Star. Today’s goal was to find some bigger models for our group to mess around with. This lead us to making a move to the south trying to locate the bigger fish in cooler water. Unfortunately there were no schools just scattered fish so we found ourselves back up to the north with the rest of the fleet. A handful of nice flatspots produced a couple opportunities on some day time fish and one standout trophy weighing in at 234#. Congrats Paul!
But this isn’t the best part of the day the most eventful moment was our plunker stop that lasted from 2030-2300 managing 42 beautiful bluefin anywhere from 30-185 pounds. Steady 1-5 going for hours which is what every captain dreams of. Overall a fantastic finisher on our tuna fishing. Tomorrow we will be on the banks fishing yellowtail and other variety.
