Royal Polaris celebrates Cinco De Mayo

Happy Cinco De Mayo. Hello everyone, well they say good things come to those who wait, and believe me, we have been waiting. Let's talk about tuna fishing. You could not ask for a better day on the ocean. We had our first stop of the day on a troll stop, in which one of our trollers got spooled and the other one, the Marauder just couldn't hold up to the pressure of 100 pound test Izorline. But that was the only bad news we would have today.
We had very good fishing on Yellowfin in the 140 to over 200 pounds today. But with good tuna fishing, we took the pressure of the Wahoo, and they didn't show up during the Yellowfin extravaganza. We did see a few Dorado in the water, but they were just pushed out by the Yellowfin. The Sharks did make a showing, but they were more interested in the Sardines and Mackerel, then the tuna. So with the smell of Yellowfin tuna in the air, everyone has a smile on there face at dinner. The weather today was just wonderful, flat seas, clear skies, and all the sunshine you could ask for. With three full days left to fish, this is turning out to be a great trip. We are hoping for more action like this tomorrow, so stay tuned. Until then good luck and good fishing.
The R/p crew.
P.S. Kathleen, Sheephead says he loves and misses you, Erin and Brandon.
