Today was a relaxing day out of the water after a long and successful night of bluefin fishing. Instead of going straight into our rockfish mission we decided to target some yellowtail and hopefully some other game fish. But more importantly we really wanted to focus on some rail time and an opportunity for our group to fish at their leisure. Our first destination had very good life and only a few yellows in store for us so instead of sticking around we made another 15 mile move into the southeast.

When we arrived, we were greeted with water that was a couple degrees cooler but the same signals of life around. Kicked it over around 2 in the afternoon and started fishin. Overall had a few opportunities at some 20-30 pound yellows but they were far more interested in eating the chum than they were eating out hooks. Tonight we’re gonna attempt to make some squid and hopefully snag an exotic. Besides that we have beautiful weather and one full boat of happy anglers. Can’t ask for much more than that.

For today’s photo bomb please enjoy some of the beauties we were able to tag. First off, the world renowned “Fresh One” Tom Reese with a 35# halibut. And also enjoy a couple of the yellows we captured today. We’ll check back in with yall Tomorrow.
