With a much needed flat calm ride into the beach we began looking around 0700. Shortly after we found a few large kelps that produced some smaller grade dorado but, it was something to pull on and a few of the bigger ones were tagged. In the same area there was a large body of porpoise that had a nice school of bluefin with them. Luckily we were more than prepared with a bunch of bait and anglers that were set up with that right gear. We were able to produce 26 beauty’s that mostly fell in the 60 pound class and one standout around 85-90 pounds.

As far as tomorrow goes, we’ll strictly be in travel mode. We wanna thank everyone who’s fished with us this year and in the past for once again producing an incredible fishing year. Without you, there would be no industry so once again we thank you and we look forward to fishing with you all in the future.

On another note we’ve been asked quite a few questions regarding our boat work this year and what to expect fishing wise. I’ll start with boat work. This year will be spent mostly on the cosmetic side focusing on the ins and outs of the boat and making sure she’s looking pretty. We will be remodeling the downstairs bathrooms as well as touching up a few other areas that need to be modernized.

Now fishing wise we can’t predict the future but with the fleet seeing bluefin scattered all along the coast it’s a great sign for next year. Another interesting point I wanna bring up is the commercial albacore fleet had an epic season last year and they noted that all of the fish was moving south, and in a hurry. We obviously don’t wanna get ahead of ourselves by saying they’re gonna be here next year but there’s a very good chance that we could be seeing those back in the mix in the near future.

Anyhow tomorrow we’ll be arriving at Fisherman’s Landing at 0630 tomorrow with a beautiful catch of fish and lots of happy anglers. Enjoy some photos of the bluefin caught during yesterday’s activity’s.
