Beginning our day in continuing sublime conditions results matched the onboard climate. Excellent early action on fine grade yellowtail opened the door for a day of prospecting that led to a few handfuls of the bona fide jumbos sought and plenty of coastal variety. In addition, and perhaps as inspiring, was the stunning scenery. A rugged southern Baja backdrop framed seemingly endless displays of marine life flaring up in pursuit of fleeing mackerel and sardines. Amidst the huge balls of mammals feasting on abundant forage were all kinds of opportunistic predators taking full advantage of the banquet. Between surface irons and well presented flylined baits anglers had a fantastic time soaking in the incredible scenery, sights, and sounds wholly unique to this region. A perfect ending to a hugely successful Fall ten day run we took the "W" with sincere gratitude heading up the line at days end in fine style. Today's image features long time Royal Star exceptional angler and friend Mike Reardon with a beautiful example of the trophy, 30-45 pound class yellows landed today.
