Fish Report for 10-18-2025

Late hit

The final day offshore ground to a halt when sea fog enveloped Royal Star. In beautiful, flat calm conditions our looking effort was reduced to a mere fifty yards. Just before the fog rolled in a nice little hit on fine grade dorado and a few school grade yellowfin suggested that we were nearing, if not in the right zone. A northerly heading finally freed us from the fog grip but not before fifteen miles passed astern. What followed was another three hours of plying the beautiful calm seas for zero results. Then the fish gods once again smiled upon us. A lightening flurry of 12-15 pound yellowfin jolted anglers from their afternoon slumber ending the voyage with some red hot action and plenty of laughs. Freighting a bounty of 60-135 pound yellowfin in the RSW tanks already we hit the brakes on retaining too many of the school size bruisers and called it a success. Rolling home in sublime conditions the traditional prime rib extravaganza was served in divine comfort paired with fine wines and high spirits. Many thanks to Charter Master Andrew Hampton for carrying the Humboldt Fishin' Lumberjack's torch maintaining this cherished tradition. And also our thanks to all the angling participants who annually create a fantastic atmosphere on board regardless of Mother Nature's follies. Final voyage photo features our friend Glenn Itano with a fine grade dorado landed on the mini outfit after quite a battle to the delight of all!
