As daylight arose we started off getting ourselves familiarized with the zone we had fished a few days back. This involved throwing out some trolling jigs, looking through the glasses and using your sonar until you find any sign. Luckily there was plenty to look at. Bird life, kelps, jumpers, sonar schools, jig strikes, you name it. What’s so fun about this is it’s very fast paced and visual fishing. Fish that are very aggressive and provide plenty of bites for anglers and man when you hit the right school it’s a pleasure to watch.
Today we were able to find a few of those very aggressive schools which provided us our yellowfin tuna quota with a few guess bluefin and skipjacks as well. A great way to finish off our trip to say the least and a memory that many of these anglers will cherish for a very very long time. Yellowfin tuna boiling right underneath the scuppers and biting anything you through at them. Tomorrow we depart again on a 7 day voyage where Captain Brian will take over the helm!
