It started off great with a strike for a couple of school size yellowfin right out of the gates. Then it went downhill from there. In the most perfect conditions imaginable we plied waters off the beaten track that are historically productive at this time of the year. But we came up short. A few kelps that produced midget yellows and one more school size yellowfin were the results of a hard day of looking. So be it. Though we didn't come up with anything worthy the effort was absolutely worthwhile. Freighting a beautiful catch of yellowtail and variety in the hatch we called it a trip very pleased with our overall fortunes. Thank you again to our good friend Wayne Passifuime for hosting another great group of anglers on Royal Star. A good time was had by all. Final voyage features Royal Star veteran and friend Jin Liang with a beautiful grade yellowtail taken on the flyline sardine a couple days prior. Look for Captain Brian Sims to keep the reports rolling on the next four day voyage departing tomorrow.
