Waiting Game
9-8-2025
Roy Rose
Another great day on the water! After a long night of driving around we only managed to hook one fish so we called it early in order to get back on our anchor spot for the morning extravaganza. When we woke up slack current made it very challenging to get a bite. We waited it out until we couldn’t take it anymore.
In order to break up the ride we made a quick pit stop on some hard bottom for everyone to catch their red rockcod quota. With 5-10 pound reds coming over the rail 1-2 at a time it didn’t take long for us to catch what we needed for our anglers and for a delicious lunch.
We then took another tour back in towards the tuna grounds and managed to get a few tuna bites due to the current starting to flow. In all we captured a dozen more 25-60 pound bluefin and good bonito action to finish off our day. Tomorrow we will be driving south looking along the coast for yellowtail and any other coastal critters that wanna play around!
